my artist statement:
This is the second re-imagination of a flying human-bird hybrid following The Bird. In this second installation, this human-bird symbolizes freedom. They embrace a life of potential and possibilities, letting go of old narratives that are no longer useful, while honoring the gifts, memories, and the lessons of the past. Understanding the past is necessary to make wise decisions for the future. Otherwise old patterns continue to persist and history repeats itself. Once that is understood, the world opens up so that yes, you, too can fly.
