I made these collages in March 2021 as a way to process our current events. I originally posted them on Instagram and upon receiving feedback, questioning how much news I was listening to each day and how stressful they were. At first I responded that times are stressful and I’m ok with letting my art reflect that, but honestly I got discouraged from doing more because the ideas that are popping in my head are more of these. But now I’m thinking Instagram is just not the best platform. Its ease of use is a draw, but I don’t think I want the feedback anymore, and I should also look at where the comment was coming from and the art that this person tends to make (which is using art as an escape and more landscape or abstract art, which are equally valid, but not really someone whose read on my art should be taken that seriously). I’m already paying for this site, so I should actually make more use of my own website where nobody goes to and no one will leave unasked feedback ahaha
