I went to a beekeeping meeting. I don’t have any bees yet. I jumped the gun though and went to a workshop and (with a lot of help) made a Warré hive last summer. I think maybe my yard is too small and I might have neighbors who’d object and I don’t even use that much honey, but bees are so important and I like to contribute to their health.
But unfortunately this drawing is not about bees. It’s of the beekeepers who are equally interesting.
I try to be discreet in drawing people, especially at meetings, so blind contour drawings are my go-to process. Some turn out better than others…. and due to the busy nature of this day, this is the only drawing I got to do. One is better than none.
